Robert G Frykberg, DPM, MPH, MAPWCA, FRSM, FFPM (Glasg), is a graduate of the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1976. Dr Frykberg went on to complete his residency training at the New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston. He served as the President of the Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Society and a Member of the Board of Registration in Podiatry. From 1992 to 1994, he attended the Harvard School of Public Health and graduated with a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in quantitative methods. After 21 years of private practice, Dr Frykberg accepted the position as Clinical Dean of the Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery prior to moving to Phoenix. After 15 years of dedicated service to our Veterans, Dr Frykberg has decided to retire from his role as Chief of Podiatry at the Phoenix VA Medical Center and as Director of the Phoenix VA Medical Center Podiatric Residency Program. He continues to hold the academic rank of Professor, University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix and Adjunct Professor, Midwestern University Program in Podiatric Medicine. His research and writing interests have included all facets of lower extremity disorders, but are specifically focused on diabetic foot ulcers, infections, Charcot foot, and wound care. The author of nearly 100 peer-reviewed publications, he has also been the Editor of two textbooks: The High-Risk Foot in Diabetes Mellitus (1991) and the Diabetic Charcot Foot (2010). His expertise in the Diabetic Foot translated into hundreds of speaking invitations nationally and internationally with numerous lecture engagements in China, India, Russia, South America, the UK, Vietnam, Japan, Indonesia, Italy, and across Europe.

Russell R. Caprioli, DPM

Russell Caprioli, DPM is a Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS), and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is the Chief of Podiatry at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York and the Founder and Program Director of the North Shore-LIJ Medical Center Podiatric Medical and Surgical Residency Program (PMSR/RRA). In addition, Dr Caprioli is a member of the Credentials Committee for ABFAS. He is certified in wound care by the American Professional Wound Care Association and is a Certified Diabetic Educator.

Steven Goldman, DPM, MBA

Steven Goldman, DPM, MBA received his DPM degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 1982 and his MBA in Healthcare Administration from Baruch College and Mt Sinai Medical Center in 2000. Dr Goldman retired after 20 years of service as a Lt Colonel from the United State Air Force and served as the Chief of Podiatry, Chief of Surgery at DVA - New York Harbor. He is currently the Executive Director of the Federal Services Podiatric Medical Association (FSPMA).

He serves as a surgical training course director, instructor, and lecturer. Dr Guberman is the author of numerous articles in Foot and Ankle Medicine and Surgery and Wound Care.

Sarah Haller, DPM, FACFAS is board-certified in both foot and ankle surgery with the ABFAS. In addition, she has a certification in medicine with ABPM. She trained at Hoboken University Medical Center in the comprehensive foot and ankle reconstructive surgical residency. After her years as a resident, she went on to further specialize with a fellowship in reconstructive surgery and trauma in Chicago. She continues to advance her education and training in the profession with courses and educational seminars. Founder of the New Jersey Foot and Ankle Foundation Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery Arthroscopy Associate of North America (AANA) Advanced Internal Fixation/Reconstructive Surgery of the Foot and Ankle (AAFAO). When Dr Haller is not busy treating patients in the office or in surgery, you might catch her in a Pilates class or on her bike. She Is of the mindset that physical and mental wellness are critical for being the best version of herself. Paul Kesselman, DPM, DABFAS, DABMSP has been in private practice for over 40 years in NYC and LI. He is the leader for the APMA DME Workgroup, meets regularly with Medicare officials, and has formed liaisons with other orthotic professionals and lectured nationwide. His monthly column appearing in Podiatry Management is primarily dedicated to coding and compliance issues and has been a contributing author to Practical Endocrinology and other medical publications. John C Lantis, II, MD, FACS is the Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Mount Sinai West and St Luke's Roosevelt Hospitals in New York City, where he is also the Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. He holds the academic title of Professor of Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr Lantis' clinical practice spans the fields of Vascular/Endovascular Surgery, and lower extremity wound healing. He directs a clinical/basic science research program in the field of lower extremity wound healing and tissue repair and is published extensively. He is a founding member of the American Board of Wound Medicine and Surgery. He currently sits on the editorial board of WOUNDS and the Journal of Wound Care. In addition, he is a reviewer for half a dozen other journals. To date, he is/or has been the principal investigator on more than 55 multicenter and single center chronic wound and vascular surgery trials.

James McGuire, DPM, LPT, LPed, FAPWHc is the director of the Leonard Abrams Center for Advanced Wound Healing and a Clinical Professor in the Departments of Podiatric Medicine and Podiatric Biomechanics at the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr McGuire earned his DPM degree from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in 1981. He is a fellow and founding member of the American Professional Wound Care Association and the Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing and serves as an advisor to the board of the Council for Medical Education and Testing. Dr McGuire is a licensed Physical Therapist, a licensed Pedorthist, and is Certified in Wound Care by the Council for Medical Education and Testing (CMET). He is also board certified by both the American Board of Podiatric Surgery (ABPS) and the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM). After completing his residency in podiatric surgery, Dr McGuire left 10 years of private practice in Rutland Vermont to become a member of the Temple faculty in 1992. He has over 40 years of experience in podiatric medicine, physical therapy, and wound management. He has published extensively and has participated in several research trials involving the diabetic foot and wound healing. Dr McGuire has lectured both nationally and internationally and is in great demand as a speaker in the areas of wound healing, diabetic foot management, off-loading, and biomechanics of the at-risk foot. He lives with his wife Nancy in Berwyn, PA just outside of Philadelphia

Matthew Regulski, DPM, FFPM RCPS (Glasg), DABMSP is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He performed his residency at the Main Line Health System in Philadelphia, PA, and is currently the Medical Director of the Wound Care Institute of Ocean County, LLC. Dr Regulski is also Co-Director of The Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine at Community Medical Center and is involved at the Wound Care Center at the Kimball Institute. He has been the principal investigator for multiple clinical trials for wound healing, diabetic foot, and venous leg ulcers, and has authored several peer-reviewed articles for the treatment of chronic wound healing and limb-salvage surgery. Dr Regulski is currently on the Board of Directors of the Federation of International Podiatry and is the Scientific Chairman for the Federation of International Podiatry. He is also the Communications Director for the Foot Working Group of the American Diabetes Association. Dr Regulski is a wound care certified physician and fellow of both the Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing and the American Professional Wound Care Association. He is also a National Delegate for the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care and is a member of the Wound Healing Society. An International and National lecturer of wound healing and limb-salvage surgery, Dr Regulski has multiple certifications in wound healing, diabetic wounds, and limb-salvage surgery. Dr Matthew Regulski is a fellow faculty member at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, Scotland.

Reem Sheikh, DPM, DABFAS

Reem Sheikh, DPM, DABPM, DABFAS currently serves as assistant professor in the department of surgery at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr Sheikh is a graduate of Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery and completed her residency training at NYCPM/Metropolitan Hospital Center (PMSR-RRA). She served as chief resident during her last year. Dr Sheikh is passionate about teaching and training residents. She is published in peer-reviewed journals and is currently involved in an IRB approved clinical study evaluating changes to thickness of plantar fascia after laser treatment for heel pain. Dr Sheikh devotes her personal time to her family and her hobbies, which include traveling, photography, and painting. She also calls the great state of Alaska home.

Ronald L Sherman, DPM, MBA

Dr Ronald Sherman is a podiatric surgeon and Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery in the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He graduated from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his surgical training at Lutheran Hospital in Baltimore. He has served as a Residency Director in podiatric surgery for over a decade at both University of Maryland Medical System and Mercy Medical Center having graduated more than thirty podiatric physicians. He currently is the Fellowship Director for Limb Preservation and Wound Care at Johns Hopkins. Dr Sherman also earned Board Certification in both Foot and Ankle Surgery and in Wound Care. With over forty-two years of experience, he has developed an expertise in the care of the diabetic foot wound and the lower extremity. He has authored close to twenty peer-reviewed articles on this topic. Dr Sherman has been contributing to the Johns Hopkins Multidisciplinary Diabetic Foot and Wound Clinic as a principle clinician since 2012 focusing on healing unresponsive foot ulcerations and reconstruction of diabetic wounds. His research interest involves regenerative medicine employing innovative biologics, creating original wound modalities and computerized gait analysis of the diabetic foot towards significantly reducing foot ulceration and hence preserving the lower extremity for patients to ambulate safely one-step at a time.

Michael Subick, DPM, FACFAS is triple board certified in foot, ankle, and reconstructive rear foot surgery and also certified in wound care. He is the Medical Director of The Center for Wound Healing at St. Mary’s General Hospital. He directs the Podiatric Residency at St. Mary’s General Hospital. He specializes in foot and ankle reconstruction, utilizing traditional internal and external ring fixation, pediatric and adult trauma of the ankle and foot and limb salvage. He is the founder and director of the North Jersey Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Fellowship. He is one of a handful of foot and ankle surgeons with an advanced ankle license in New York State.

At that time, he joined forces with Wound Healing Solutions, a prominent post-acute wound-care consultancy in the nation, where he played a pivotal role in its development and eventually became a partner. The consultancy was successfully acquired in late 2022, and today, Zweli is the CEO of Open Wound Research, a venture he co-founded in the same year.

Steven Wells, DPM, PhD

Steven Wells, DPM, PhD has been in practice since 1997 offering the finest general podiatric care with specialties in limb salvage, diabetic foot reconstruction surgery, podopediatrics, sports medicine, wound care, arthritic problems, and aesthetics. Dr Wells began his post-secondary education at Lehman College in New York City before earning his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 1997. After an internship in 1998 at St. Clare Hospital, Dr Wells completed a residency at Interfaith Medical Center in 1999 and a Fellowship at SUNY Downstate in 2000. Additionally, in 2017, Dr Wells received a PhD in Philosophy from Newburgh College. Dr Wells is Board Certified and licensed to practice Podiatry in both New York and New Jersey, with hospital affiliations at Brookdale Medical Center, Hackensack Meridian, and Richmond University Medical Center. He is both well respected and active in the podiatric community, with memberships in the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), the New Jersey Podiatric Medical Association, the American Board of Lower Extremity Surgery, the American Diabetes Association, the National Alliance of Woundcare and Ostomy, and the Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing. Dr Wells is also a former clinical assistant professor in the department of orthopedics at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, and an international lecturer and Surgeon of the Diabetic Foot and Lower Extremity Medicine. Dr Wells is active in doing annual dynamic diabetes education seminars and screenings in several islands of the Caribbean including Jamaica, Belize, Carriacou, Petite Martinique, and Grenada. He is the founder and CEO of the Diabetic Foot Centre Group which is responsible for educating and training physicians, nurses, and health care providers on how to develop multidisciplinary foot centers for the purpose of decreasing lower extremity amputations for diabetes.

Jacob Wynes, DPM, MS, FACFAS

Jacob Wynes, DPM, MS, FACFAS grew up in Baltimore, MD where he had been mentored by many outstanding podiatric surgeons. He later went on to graduate from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and continued to complete a 4-year residency at the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Dr Wynes then pursued an additional year of training as a clinical fellow at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics, International Center for Limb Lengthening with a focus on foot and ankle deformity correction. Currently, Dr Wynes works at the University of Maryland School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor within the Department of Orthopaedics. Dr Wynes currently treats patients at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr Wynes remains active in-patient care, surgery, and research. He is the co-director of the UMMC Limb Preservation Clinic, fellowship program director for the UMSOM Limb Deformity Fellowship, and site director for the Baltimore VA and Medstar Health residency programs.
